Tirana-Durrës-Rinas railway line/ Works enter a new phase

The works for the Tirana-Durrës-Rinas railway line have entered a new phase. Deputy Prime Minister, at the same time Minister of Infrastructure Belinda Balluku has announced the arrival of machinery in Albania, which will give a boost to the works for the railway line

The machine known as Tamping, or in other words the "beating" machine, is a self-propelled machine mounted on the rail.

It is used to pack/press the track ballast under the rails, making them more stable and level.

Leveling machines are essential for the use of concrete sleepers, as they are very heavy (usually over 250 kg).

Also, Tamping corrects the alignment of the tracks to make them parallel and level, in order to achieve a more comfortable ride for passengers and goods.

The Tirana-Durrës-Rinas railway line will be an all-electric line, with a significant impact in the field of transport in the country./ CNA
