The vice-president of the DP, Oerd Bylykbashi, has commented on the agreement between the SP and the DP on the changes in the Electoral Code.

According to Bylykbashi, the policy must fundamentally change the system. Bylykbashi said that this agreement has broken many accounts, raising the electoral threshold for independent candidates.

He justified himself by saying that the agreement was reached as far as the SP could accept since it has the majority of votes in the Assembly to approve it.

During an interview, Bylykbashi said that the greatest achievement is the vote of immigrants.

 "Rama blocked the reform. What was agreed upon in the Laws Commission was not achieved in the Electoral Reform. The OSCE-ODIHR recommendations were not voted on. Something was achieved in the agreement. It is an intervention by the Constitutional Court, a correction that was made in 2020. Politics must fundamentally change this system, what the socialists did in 2020 with the Electoral Code. It is an obligation to implement the decision of the Constitutional Court. This deal has broken many accounts.

The electoral threshold for independent candidates has been set. We need to continue to change the Electoral Code. The electoral code changes with 84 votes, the opposition does not have them, the SP does. And they accepted up to this point. Four years have passed, and we are at the limit of time for the diaspora vote. What the opposition proposed, votes from outside Albania.

We have calculated the vote of immigrants by the county they come from, it does not matter for any category that is abroad, that lives and works there, with studies or for treatment.... It is the maximum opening of the right to vote. The more Albanians register, the better, since they are the cheapest votes, because in Albania votes are bought with money and are under political pressure", said Bylykbashi./ CNA
