Former dictator's villa in art center/ Rama: The house is not responsible

Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke at the inauguration of the villa of former dictator Enver Hoxha, which has now been transformed into an artistic residence and will be called "Villa 31 X Art Explora".

In his speech, Rama thanked the foreign architects for resizing the villa, adding that this center will now be more livable and attractive.   

"This building was a temptation to demolish and turn into something else, but it ends in the best way."

I thank the architects for their extraordinary merit in the way this space has been transformed, which has a different program than what this house once had.

But, preserving the decor that makes this center more livable and attractive. It is an extraordinary job, the result is spectacular in all spaces and each new object is a work of art.

"When you pass by you will feel the art, if not you should go and visit. The house has no responsibility in relation to the past, its future activities will be those that the dictator was terrified of", said Rama. /CNA
