The Director of the State Police, Skënder Hita, arrived a few minutes ago near the Tirana residential complex, which was engulfed in a massive fire this afternoon.

In a statement to the media, Hitaj said that the situation is moving towards being brought under control, while emphasizing that all structures are involved in the operation, including the FNSH and RENEA departments.

"There were 2 residents evacuated by the fire and police services. They are very good for life, except for asphyxiation. We have not made the final assessment. At the end of the assessment, when we inspect the premises, we will let you know."

SHZ employees have shown up, they have minor burns, they do not have serious burns. All police forces have been engaged. We have coordinated with the firefighters. FNSH and RENEA units have been put into service. Not all apartments have been checked. Until the fire is brought under control.

"Even sooner for concrete results. We will take all the security cameras, all the people will be questioned. If the fire is due to external causes, there will be extreme measures," said Hita. /CNA
