The Mayor of Kukës, Safet Gjici, spoke about the situation created after more than 50 residents of the village of Shtiqen, showed signs of poisoning.

The Directorate of Hygiene and the Water Supply and Sewerage Company in the northeastern region have intervened by taking measures, respectively by analyzing water samples and interrupting the supply in the Muja neighborhood.

While Gjici has asked the hospital authorities to wait for the answer of the tests before making hypotheses according to him about the source of the disease.

“Në fakt nuk është e vërtetë dhe po ju kujtoj se të gjithë ata, qoftë drejtues institucionesh, mjekë apo kushdo qofshin, apo rrjetet sociale, ose këta që bëjnë politika të mëdha në Kukës që janë dhe doktor, të abuzosh me një temë sensitive siç është uji i pijshëm, është e papranueshme. Ne e dimë që viroza e stinës s’është vetëm në Kukës, por ka edhe në Tiranë, raste të shtuara. Nuk ka lidhje fare me ujin e pijshëm. Një deklaratë që ka dhënë një mjek te spitali është keqkuptuar nga të gjithë ata që e kanë përdorur në rrjete sociale dhe politikisht. Patjetër që policia do bëjë hetimet e veta dhe do i marrë dhe analizat e ujit”, shprehet Gjici.

Por në fjalën e tij, Gjici tha se lagjia Mujë, ku është shënuar problematika, nuk ka probleme me ujin e pijshëm, por ka ndodhur një përzierje e tij me ujin vaditës.
