The mayor of Korça, Sotiraq Filo, spoke from the Bus Terminal in Korça, about the Beer Festival, which started this Wednesday.

Filo said that thousands of people have gone to Korça, while this year there has been an increased number of foreign tourists.

He emphasized that the Beer Festival also has an important impact on the local economy of Korça.

"The 18th edition of the Beer Festival has started today. It is an extraordinary event, which takes place in Korça during 5 nights. It is an event that welcomes several thousand people here in the square on each of its nights.

It is the party, which has already turned into a tradition, where all participants have the opportunity to taste traditional products of Korça, obviously the different beers that participate in this party, but also the spectacle and the extraordinary concert, where this year we are also took care to bring some of the outstanding names, not only of Albanian music, but also of Balkan music.

The Beer Festival also has an important impact, even in the local economy of the city, it is enough to mention the fact that on the five nights the hotel facilities in the city of Korça, in the Municipality of Korça are fully booked this year as well, just like the years others.

The Beer Festival marks a culmination of the summer tourist season in the city of Korça. I believe that this year we had a successful tourist season, where, unlike other years, in addition to local tourists, we had a large number of international tourists and I am very sure that this number, in other years, will be always growing", declared the mayor of Korça./ CNA
