Snow in several regions of the country/ Police appeal to drivers

Due to snowfall, traffic has become difficult on several road axes, mainly in the mountainous areas of regions such as Shkodër, Kukës, Dibër, Korçë and Saranda.

The State Police calls on drivers to be careful while driving, to respect road signs, and to equip themselves with snow chains and winter tires.

It also announces that trucks will not be allowed to pass through Qafë Thanë (for about 2-3 hours) until the road is cleared by snowplows on Macedonian soil.

"Call for caution to all road users!"

Due to snowfall, traffic has become difficult on several road axes, mainly in the mountainous areas of the regions of Shkodër, Kukës, Dibër, Korçë and Saranda.

The Traffic Police and General Patrol Services are on the ground to prevent accidents and to assist road users in case of need.

The police are cooperating with road owners and contracting companies to clear the roads of snow and distribute salt. The work of clearing and salting the roads continues intensively.

At Qafë Thanë, trucks will not be allowed to pass (about 2-3 hours) until the road is cleared by snowplows on Macedonian soil.

The Traffic Police appeals to drivers to:

be careful when moving,

respect road signs,

are equipped with chains and winter tires,
