CEO for Europe of the American company CWP: We thank Deputy Prime Minister

CEO for Europe of the American company CWP, Dimitar Enchev, who is in charge of the project for the construction of the eloic park in Tropoja, during his speech thanked Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy for the excellent cooperation.

"It is a great pleasure for me to be here today to take this very important moment for our project. I will say two words, just very briefly. I will not be long."

First, I would like to thank Prime Minister Rama and Ms. Balluku for their support for their vision to push forward this project that is so important for Albania's energy policies so that they go in the right direction.

It is not at all easy to create new developments in such a complex energy environment and this requires very close cooperation between the private sector and the public sector, and we have seen this.

Along with the good will and vision to make this a reality.

The last time I was here was about three months ago when we decided and signed a joint cooperation agreement with the EU and now after three months we receive the permission that allows us to engage in preparing the final stages of our project.

The project is actually very ambitious. 600 MW on the market in a market like Albania is not a small thing, it is not a small word.

I started this work 20 years ago. 20 years ago I was young and I started doing this for environmental reasons, to tell the truth, to address climate change issues. 5 years ago this energy environment in the European context stopped talking about climate change and we had to find a way to move towards energy independence and now 5 years later we have an even greater reason to move towards energy independence.

"Data, AI have been built, and it is becoming very clear that the next obstacle will no longer be the data center data itself, but the energy itself that will power these centers," said Enchev.

The CEO for Europe of the American company CWP emphasized that a modern Albanian economy must be built and therefore there must be a very healthy energy policy.

He underlined that a modern economy cannot be built if we do not have energy resources, so in the context of Albania it is very important. Albania has a unique positioning, it is well connected to the rest of Europe, well-studied energy profiles are needed.

"In this perspective, we need to build a modern economy and Albania has this as a mission and for this reason we need to have a very healthy energy policy. We cannot build a modern economy if we do not have energy resources, so in the context of Albania it is very important. Albania has a unique positioning, it is well connected to the rest of Europe, we need well-studied energy profiles. This is what we see today as Europe in a broader context, which must generate as much local electricity as possible in order to move towards energy independence. Many people do not understand this at the moment, but I believe that the people in this room understand it very well."

Enchev expressed his positive view of Albania's energy future and Albania's economic future, which depends on these sound energy policies.

"I am very pleased and positive about Albania's energy future and Albania's economic future, which depends on these sound energy policies."

Our investment is very ambitious, some people thought we were crazy but when we were doing the study we proved them wrong. I would like to thank the government and the administration that has helped us with this, it is important for us to engage with the local communities because it is not just a matter of doing some installations, we need the infrastructure so we have a comprehensive package, we have been one of the leading developers for Southeastern Europe.

We bring the best practices and the best standards. We do this not only because we want to, but because we want to set the highest standards for our successors.

"We will need proper interaction with the government and local authorities. I wanted to thank you in advance. We will do our best to get this project done as soon as possible," Enchev said./ CNA
