The EU will hold two consecutive summits with Japan and China.

In a live broadcast from Strasbourg for CNA TV, journalist Monada Mehmetaj reveals the main topics expected to be discussed, with the main ones being economic policies, but also the conflict in Ukraine.

"The summit takes place directly after the reduction of taxes from 25% by the US for Japan to 15%. And what will happen precisely at the Japan summit that will take place today on July 23 is a very important moment and the agenda includes a series of moments of EU relations with Japan, and of course geopolitical relations such as the issue of Russia with Ukraine, such as relations between the EU in terms of deepening economic relations, for which there will be a parenthesis for deepening these relations and advancing this entire path that the European Union and Japan have achieved so far. There are 20% of world production that are exchanged between the EU and Japan and 30%, and we also have China ," said the journalist.

 

Mehmetaj also revealed a recent report by the European Commission, which lists Albania as the country with the largest overcrowding of detainees in Europe.

"We are the first country in Europe with the largest number of detainees. There was an EC report which included a period from January 2023 to January 2024 which ranked Albania in the first place with the largest number of detainees with 58% ," the journalist said.
