The Chairman of the Conference of Rectors, Artan Hoxha, has expressed his opposition to the draft law on Science at the meeting of the Education Committee.

According to Hoxha, this draft law should not pass in the plenary session as there are strong problems in the Constitution, with the scientific research on autonomy, there is a conflict with the legal acts, calling it a declarative project that solves almost nothing.

"The three legs of the sanctioned university in terms of teaching, scientific research and the contribution it gives to the development of society. Today we can say that no less than 90% of scientific capacities and contributions are institutions of Higher Education.

There are 5 thousand lecturers who contribute to scientific research. All this contribution with the new bill for the first science is in a way appreciated, it seems that salvation is found through other structures, it seems that something will come from below, where it comes from.

The draft law is in the situation that it is, it is not to be passed in the plenary session because there are strong problems with the constitution, with the scientific research on autonomy, there are conflicts with the legal acts, it is a declarative project, it does not solve almost anything. It is open to adjustments for by-laws", said Hoxha./ CNA
