The membership of Finland and Sweden in NATO/ Meta signs the protocol

President Ilir Meta has signed the protocol for the membership of Finland and Sweden in NATO.

Meta emphasizes that their membership will influence the strengthening of the joint contribution to this alliance.

" The President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, has decreed by proclamation the following laws:

 Law no. 56/2022 "On the ratification of the protocol of the North Atlantic Treaty for the accession of the Republic of Finland"; and Law no. 57/2022 "On the ratification of the protocol of the North Atlantic Treaty for the accession of the Kingdom of Sweden".

The Republic of Albania has followed with priority the internal legal procedures related to the membership of the Republic of Finland and the Kingdom of Sweden in NATO.

The membership of these friendly countries is definitely a historical development and a major strategic change, which is supported at every step by Albania.

We are convinced that their membership will influence the strengthening of the common contribution to this alliance. Together we stand stronger! ", announces the Presidency./ CNA.al
