US Embassy warns: Albanian parents traveling to the US to give birth there may risk visa renewal

The US Embassy in Tirana has shared an important announcement for Albanian citizens planning to travel to the United States of America to give birth to their children there.

As emphasized through an announcement on social media, these citizens should exercise caution if they use the Medicaid program to cover medical care.

According to the embassy, ??these costs are passed on to American taxpayers, and those parents may not be eligible to renew their visas in the future.

"Many Albanian parents on tourist visas travel to the United States with the intention of giving birth there and use the Medicaid program to cover medical care. These costs are passed on to American taxpayers, and those parents may not be eligible to renew their visas in the future," the statement said. /CNA
