Singapore has launched a new type of beer, produced entirely from sewage. Such a thing has happened in the framework of the governmental program for waste water, in order to deal with the general problem of water shortage.

The company declares that the polluted water used in the composition of this beer is completely disinfected and has no harmful microbes. "NEWBrew" beer was produced for the first time in 2018, while it has already started to gain popularity.

People who have tried the beer have been quite satisfied with the taste and in no time it has become the most preferred and sought after beer in Singapore. This beer contains 5% alcohol and has a high fermentation.

The company sees its production as a project that should be evaluated for the challenge of water scarcity, in the midst of the climate crisis.  

However, it should be noted that this is not the first time that recycled wastewater has been used in factories to make beer. / CNA.al
