Facebook will bring back the most fun button for its users

Facebook has announced that it will bring back the 'Poke' button, one of the foundational features of the platform dating back to 2004. Although the feature had been largely retired since 2014, it had been hidden within Facebook's settings.

However, recent design changes have made the button more visible, increasing interest in it again. Users of the new generation age group are the ones who have shown the most interest in exchanging 'Pokes'. This behavior has caused the use of the button to increase significantly, causing it to return to popularity, The Sun reported.

What is the purpose of "Poking"?

Facebook has never specified the purpose of the 'Poke' button, allowing users to formulate their own interpretations. Some saw it as a way to start a private conversation, while for others it was a simple way to make fun or show interest.

After bringing back the 'Poke' button, Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of 'Facebook', joked that "Nature is healing". Zuckerberg then shared a personal tidbit where he revealed who his first Poke was, confirming to millions that their flirting efforts weren't entirely in vain. /CNA
