OFFICIAL/ Barcelona ends doubts, signs Yamal

Barcelona has formalized the contract renewal with Lamine Yamal until 2031. The agreement was signed in the office of president Joan Laporta, with the presence of other officials such as Rafa Yuste and Deco.

The release clause remains at 1 billion euros, while the new contract will come into effect on July 13, when Yamal turns 18.

The footballer had a contract until 2026, but his rapid progress made renewal necessary.

Barcelona and agent Jorge Mendes reached an agreement after several intensive meetings. The new contract includes a salary increase and bonuses for goals.

The renewal removes any doubt about a possible transfer during the summer transfer window. Yamal will join Spain for the Nations League, before the holidays begin.
