New coach for Besiktas, decision on Asllan expected

Besiktas is very close to appointing Vincenzo Italiano as the team's new coach following the departure of Sergen Yalcin.

The Turkish club's leaders have reached an agreement with the Italian coach, who is expected to arrive in Istanbul to finalize the details of the contract.

The agreement between the parties is expected to be valid until the summer of 2028. Italiano is without a team after ending his two-year adventure at the helm of Bologna.

During this period he also won the Coppa Italia in 2025. His appointment could also affect the future of Kristjan Asllani.

The Albanian midfielder plays for Besiktas on loan from Inter with an option to buy. The final decision on activating this clause is expected to be made by the new coach.
