The World Wrestling Championship in Belgrade, which has been taking place since September 10, also sees Albania taking part in this event. Our national team is represented by 2 athletes of Chechen origin Zelimkhan Abakarov and Islam Dudaev, who were provided with an Albanian passport a year ago and compete under the red and black flag.

Zelimkhan Abakarov qualifies for the 1/8 of the World Wrestling Championship. The naturalized Albanian athlete who competes in the 57 kg weight category, defeated the Colombian Oscar Eduardo Tigreros Urbano in the qualifiers with a score of 10-0. Our wrestler will face the Cuban Reineri Andreu Ortega in the next round.
