Last year, a total of 25,000 mammograms were performed, of which 11,000 were performed in October and 5,000 were performed in mobile mammography units.

The health authorities have stated that breast cancer in Albania, described as the disease of the century, has an increasing trend, but 99% of cases detected early are completely curable, so early detection significantly increases the successful treatment of this disease , while its prevention comes with regular checks.

New drugs for tumor diseases are added to the list of reimbursable drugs every year, and currently 20 reimbursable drugs and innovative therapies are included for breast cancer, as well as the same treatment protocols as the most developed countries./ Voa
