Two massive fires were registered today in Berat and Vlora, where plots of olive trees, as well as pastures and vegetation, were burned as a result.

A fire caused by the carelessness of farmers has burned 5 plots with olive roots and about 500m2 of vegetation with bushes and thorns in the village of Sadovicë, in the Sinjë Administrative Unit in Berat.

The fire was caused by the carelessness of the farmers themselves, who were cleaning the olive plots and burning the waste.

Suddenly the fire got out of control and then they notified the fire brigade. After the notification received, 7 fire fighters, 2 fire engines and state police officers were dispatched to the area.

The flames were quickly localized, avoiding further spread to the olive plots in the area, and in a short time it was possible to completely extinguish the fire.

Also, a fire broke out in the village of Penkovë in Selenica, while firefighters are working to extinguish the flames. The fire has been active for about 1 hour and has burned areas with pastures and vegetation.
