The village of Llakatund, in Vlora, is going through a difficult time, as many young people have left the village, seeking better opportunities outside. Local businesses have also gone bankrupt, leaving behind shuttered shops.

Unemployment is one of the main reasons that has forced many young people to abandon the village and seek a living in other cities or abroad.

 

"The trouble has forced people to flee Llakatundi, I am 90 years old, in our time it was bustling with activity, there was vitality, young people. I would like to see my grandchildren playing on the sports fields ," said a resident.

Another resident said that no intervention has been made in this village to rehabilitate the infrastructure, which is damaged.

 

"50% of the residents have left due to the economic situation, unemployment. The damaged infrastructure, at the entrance to Llakatund is damaged, no intervention has been made for rehabilitation ," said the resident./ CNA
