Today, a tribute protest was held and will be held this Saturday in Mother Teresa Square, for all the murdered women.

A group of activists have come up with the urgent request, asking that this wound of society be treated as a national emergency.

This protest also comes as solidarity for the serious incident against the pregnant woman who was killed by her husband in Kosovo.

Since January of this year, 8 women have been killed in Albania by their ex-partners, or by their close family circle.

 "The killing of women by men should be treated as a national emergency. During the period January 1-December 1, 2022, there were 8 murders of women and girls by partners, ex-partners or close friends. Each of us continues to be threatened by patriarchal violence and the failure of institutions. Killing wild animals is not a crime of passion, but femicide," said a protester./CNA.al
