Over 3,600 new infections and 6 deaths from the coronavirus were recorded in Albania in the last 7 days alone. For epidemiologist Ilir Alimehmeti, such a pandemic wave was expected due to the subvariants of Omicron that are in circulation.

In an interview for Klan, he said that the new cases in reality are much more than the authorities have declared.
