Prime Minister Edi Rama, through a video on social media, has announced another increase in the state budget.

Rama said that in 2026, the practice of annual indexation for the salaries of public sector employees, at the central and local levels, will begin. A correction that will be made every year based on inflation.

Rama further stated that 10,600 service employees will benefit from the increase in the minimum wage.

The Prime Minister also focused on the health sector, where he said that in addition to annual indexation, the calculation of seniority in work will also begin.

" There is another very good news. The beginning of the practice of annual indexation for the salaries of public sector employees, both at the central and local levels, which will be corrected every year based on inflation. This is a new salary policy that, combined with the general increase, as a result of the increase in the minimum wage for all, adds almost 100 million euros as early as 2026, an amount that the mandate will make available to increase the purchasing power of all social categories. 10,600 service workers, sanitation workers, drivers, archivists, warehouse workers will benefit from the increase in the minimum wage by 10,000 new lek per month. For specialists, the increase will be 5,000 new lek. Teachers will benefit from 3,000 new lek more per month. In the health sector, in addition to annual indexation, the calculation of seniority in work will also begin, which means that on average for general practitioners, from 131 "700 lek to 143,500 new lek per month ," Rama said./CNA
