Today, Prime Minister Edi Rama introduced the new Minister of Health, Evis Sala. In her first speech, Sala said that the new task for her is a great challenge. Sala went straight into her plan on where she would focus in her role as Minister of Health.

She emphasized that it is unacceptable that oncology drugs are not reimbursed in our country.

Reimbursement of oncology drugs was also one of the main points Minister Sala focused on. The minister further noted that changes are needed, starting from digitalization, diagnostics, and AI, in the healthcare system.

"For me today is an exciting day. I return to a place where I studied. The changes are profound. Seeing the changes in the structure, I told myself it is better than in other places where I have worked.

It's a big challenge but those who know me know that I like to face challenges. I have faced challenges with a team. When the team is successful, the team leader is also successful.

Of course, changes are needed. I want to focus my work on some key initiatives. I think it is very important to solve the reimbursement of oncological drugs. It is unacceptable for us that oncological drugs are not reimbursed. This is also a personal thing for me. It is a challenge of the task but also mine. It is doable. I think it also matches the vision of the Prime Minister", said Sala./ CNA
