Statements by Commissioner Kos/Kikia: We want to heal the 'wound', not

Journalist Mentor Kikia commented on the statements made this Friday in Tirana by EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos.

In an interview on A2 CNN, Kikia stated that beyond the Commissioner's positions, what is important for the country is to overcome the 'wound' regarding the standard of elections.

"In Brussels there is an extraordinary kindness, there is a friendly political climate towards Albania that has never been there before and towards any country. This means that Albania no longer has arguments with phobias, but has an exaggerated love."

This is a chance we have to join the EU. And this flag is waved by Kos. Beyond the affection she shows for the prime minister, her statements are not realistic, correct to reality. The one about the elections today was a crack.

The ODIHR report could have been more critical, but it was still an alarm bell. And this bell should ring for us, but also in Brussels where standards are monitored closely. To say that the elections were free and fair takes a certain amount of courage.
