The wines that intoxicated power!

The wines that intoxicated power!

There are moments when a society must stop and ask itself: where have we come to?

Albania today is not just tired. It is wounded. Wounded by corruption transformed into a system, by a power that no longer knows borders, and by a parliamentary republic that is fading before our eyes. The institutions that were supposed to maintain the balance of power have bowed down. Parliament is silent. Control is lacking. Decision-making is concentrated in a single hand.

In this darkness, “wines that intoxicate the government” is not a poetic figure. It is a symbol of real arrogance. The wines seized by SPAK, evidence of corruption investigations, disappeared. They were stolen by the state itself. A small act at first glance, but with great significance: when the government steals evidence, it openly declares that it no longer fears the law. That it feels untouchable. That it is intoxicated by its own power.

And a drunken government no longer sees straight. It attacks justice. It attacks prosecutors. It mocks investigations. It exerts pressure. It seeks to subjugate the law, not to obey it. This is no longer simply a political crisis; it is a direct threat to the rule of law.

Meanwhile, the will of the citizens is deformed. Elections are held, but freedom of the vote is eroded by fear, poverty, blackmail, and the dark connections of power with organized crime. The state is weakened, national security slips, and gangs gain ground.

The law no longer applies equally to everyone.

Precisely for this reason, the demand for the resignation of the government and the establishment of a caretaker government is not political revenge. It is a call for institutional rescue. It is an attempt to stop the slide before it becomes an abyss. A caretaker government is not a magic solution, but it is the minimum necessary to restore trust, guarantee free elections and breathe life into the republic.
