The 2026 Grammy Awards ceremony was held last night in Los Angeles. Many artists who took the stage to accept their awards protested the ongoing operations of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which have caused outrage across the country.

Bad Bunny, the artist who won the award for Best Album of the Year with his album "Debi Tirar Mas Fotos," delivered a message against ICE during his speech. He stated that immigrants are not savages, nor animals, nor aliens, but Americans.

"Before I say thank you to God, I will say with conviction that I am against ICE. We are not savages, we are not animals, we are not aliens. We are human beings and we are Americans. I want to dedicate this award to all the people who were forced to leave their homeland, their country, to pursue their dreams ," said the Puerto Rican star.

Billie Eilish, who won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for the song "Wildflower," also used her onstage speech to protest ICE.

"As grateful as I feel, I honestly don't feel like I have to say anything, except that no one is illegal on this earth. I feel like we just have to keep fighting and speaking out and protesting, and our voices really do matter, and people matter ," Eilish said.

Kehlani, who won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance for the song "Folded," ended her acceptance speech with the same phrase.

British singer-songwriter Olivia Dean, who won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist, noted during her speech that she is the granddaughter of an immigrant.

Many other attendees at the Grammys, including Eilish, Joni Mitchell, Brandi Carlile, Jack Antonoff and Justin and Hailey Bieber, wore buttons with the phrase "ICE out." /CNA
