BTS dominates the 2026 American Music Awards/ "Artist of the Year"

BTS has once again confirmed their status as one of the most successful groups in the world, triumphing at the 2026 American Music Awards. The group was named "Artist of the Year" for the second year in a row, leaving behind well-known names in the music industry such as Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Bad Bunny and Lady Gaga.

Their success didn’t stop with the main award. BTS also won the “Song of the Summer” award with their hit “SWIM,” further solidifying their dominance on the international music charts. Meanwhile, their label’s new group, Katseye, was honored with the “New Artist of the Year” award, marking another success for their musical projects.

The awards night also brought other notable industry wins. "GOLDEN," the song used in the K-Pop animated film Demon Hunters, was named "Song of the Year," while Sabrina Carpenter won "Album of the Year."

The American Music Awards are based entirely on public votes, reflecting the global power of the "ARMY" fandom, which remains one of the most active fan communities in the world.

In his speech, group leader RM thanked fans for their continued support, while the other members emphasized the importance of their comeback after completing their military service.
