For the third time, Shakira will sing the 2026 World Cup anthem

Shakira will once again return to the world football scene with her newest song "Dai Dai", which will be the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup that will take place in the United States, Mexico and Canada during the months of June and July.

The renowned artist made the announcement this Thursday through a short video posted on social media, where she revealed that the official music video for the song will be released on May 14th.

This marks the third time Shakira has composed music for a World Cup. In 2010, she released the legendary hit "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)", the official anthem of the World Cup in South Africa, while four years later she brought the song "La La La (Brazil 2014)" for the tournament held in Brazil.

In the promotional video, filmed at the legendary Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Shakira appears wearing a yellow T-shirt and blue shorts, accompanied by ballerinas and soccer balls, while performing excerpts from the new song "Dai Dai."/ CNA
