Murder of 81-year-old man in Tirana / Police reveal details of the incident

The Director of the Tirana Local Police Directorate, Elton Alushi, in a press conference, revealed the details of the murder of the 81-year-old man that occurred in the village of Shengjin i Vogël, Qafmolë, Tirana on 13.01.2025.

Citizen Isuf Hasa, 64 years old, went to the apartment of his neighbor Xhemal Meta and for weak motives shot him with a hard tool (hammer) in the back of the head, causing his death.

From the investigative actions, it is suspected that the alleged perpetrator Isuf Hasa, after hitting the victim, took a quantity of monetary values ??that he was carrying in his pocket, and then left.

From the numerous searches carried out in several apartments of the author and his family members, an amount of 200,000 new lek was found and seized.

During the searches carried out at the apartment of citizen LH (the daughter of the suspected perpetrator) in the village of Gjokaj, Vora, the Police Services found and seized as material evidence the suspected item (hammer) with which the perpetrator committed the murder.

"On 13.01.2025, the services of Police Station No. 4 received a notification from a citizen that his neighbor, citizen Xhemal Meta, was found dead in the yard of his apartment.

The Police Services and the Investigation Team immediately went to the scene of the incident and from the first investigative actions, suspicion arose that this citizen could have been killed with hard objects.

A special investigative group was created to investigate and clarify the case and, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, continued to work intensively to clarify the circumstances and legally document the case.

The special investigative group, composed of Specialists from the Serious Crimes Investigation Sector, at the Tirana Local Police Directorate, and Specialists from the Criminal Police Department under the professional guidance of the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Tirana, have carried out a series of professional investigative actions through the application of special investigation methods.

Thanks to intensive investigative work, within 48 hours it was possible to solve the incident, identify and capture the suspected perpetrator.

From the entirety of the in-depth investigative actions, it resulted that on 13.01.2025, at around 09:00, citizen Isuf Hasa, 64 years old, went to the apartment of his neighbor Xhemal Meta and for weak motives shot him with a hard tool (hammer) in the back of the head, causing his death.
