Tirana Police arrested citizen Elvis Gaçaj today, after he was found carrying a firearm, while a quantity of cannabis was also seized during the search.

Who is Elvis Gaçaj?

He is a well-known name in Albanian justice, having previously been convicted of illegal possession of weapons, drug trafficking, and robbery.

Gaçaj has a long history of run-ins with the law. On October 1, 2015, he narrowly escaped a massacre in which two people who were in the same car with him were killed. In 2019, he was arrested in Durrës on suspicion of involvement in the murder of Santiago Malko, an event that had a great resonance in public opinion.

In April 2018, Gaçaj was arrested in a police operation near the “Partizani” school in Tirana, together with Leonard Duka. During the search of the apartment, a firearm and a quantity of narcotics were found. At that time, the Court imposed the measure of “house arrest” on both defendants.
