Arrested for illegal construction/The testimony of the head of the Saranda

The Head of the Saranda Police Station, Gëzim Bashllari, was among those arrested as part of the operation for illegal construction on the coast.

He is suspected of committing the criminal offenses of "Abuse of office", "Committing arbitrary acts" and "Failing to take measures to end the illegal situation", committed in collaboration.

According to reports, Bashllari, during questioning by investigators, stated that he had recently been engaged in solving a murder in Saranda and was unable to deal with the issue of illegal construction.

Meanwhile, along with Bashllari, it was announced that Deputy Commissioner Andi Duro, a specialist in crime investigation, was also arrested; Deputy Commissioner Ajdin Ismailaj, a specialist in order, and Inspector Robert Çullaj, an area specialist.

Vlora police have also arrested 8 citizens in flagrante delicto who are working to build an illegal building in Saranda on a beach area, and have declared the owner who had requested the construction of this building wanted.

Meanwhile, the head of the Section for the Investigation of Major Crimes at the Saranda Police Station, Commissioner Blerim Tafçiu, has been suspended after failing to appear for questioning during the investigative actions being carried out by the Police Supervision Agency. /CNA
