On Tuesday, the Constitutional Court overturned the request for the suspension of the law "On income tax" that began its implementation with the free professions, which includes about 29 thousand entities that will have to prepay installments of the profit tax at a rate of 15-23% by starting from June.

After a marathon hearing with the representatives of the complaining parties and government institutions, the Constitutional Court decided to overturn the request for the suspension of the law.

Meanwhile, the president of the Constitutional Court said that the judicial process will continue with the examination of the evidence and the answers to the administered questions. The court left a deadline until June 21 for sending further materials and evidence, while it will give the final conclusions on June 25 for the partial repeal of the law as unconstitutional, while earlier it rejected the opposition's request for its temporary suspension .

This session is expected to finally decide whether the law will be repealed or not. The jurists explained that this decision is not evaluated negatively, because the time of giving the decision to repeal the law or not is very close, that is, June 25.

Consequently, since there is very little time left from the final decision, the court did not decide to suspend the law. The law was initially opposed by 38 opposition MPs as anti-constitutional, and then by the Accountants and Auditors as well as by the Chamber of Advocates of Albania./CNA
