Traffic Police with an "iron hand"/ 35 drivers are arrested, 126

Traffic Police with an "iron hand". During this week, 35 drivers were arrested, 22 of them for driving while intoxicated, 1 for driving under the influence of narcotics, and 12 for driving without a driving license.

In the meantime, 126 driving licenses were suspended for speeding above the permitted rates, for driving under the influence of alcohol/in a drunken state, and for driving in the opposite direction.

Police Notification:

The Road Police Services throughout the country continue the intensive monitoring of road traffic on all national, urban and rural road axes in order to prevent road accidents.

Monitoring is being carried out through intelligent speed measuring tools, high quality drones, and other modern equipment that the Traffic Police has at its disposal.

At the same time, mobile patrols have been increased, supported by the General Patrols and "Eagles", since the flow of vehicle and pedestrian traffic has been increased to the maximum in all road axes and urban centers, but especially in coastal areas.

During this week, throughout the country, by the Traffic Police, as a result of the increase of controls with intelligent vehicles, automatic radars, drones, dredges and finally telescopes, to identify mobile phone users while driving:

- 126 driving licenses were suspended, for speeding above the permitted rates, for driving under the influence of alcohol/in a drunken state, and for driving in the opposite direction;

- 35 drivers were arrested, of these 22 for driving while intoxicated, 1 for driving under the influence of narcotics, and 12 for driving without a driver's license.

In addition, 27,927 administrative measures have been imposed throughout the country, of which:

* 8008 for speeding beyond the permitted rates, but without the additional measure of driving license suspension;
* 1479 for using a mobile phone while driving;
* 1632 for not using the seat belt;
* 2094 for wrong passes;
* 678 for not wearing a protective helmet;
* 234 for speed and dangerous maneuvers on the road;
* 345 driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol;
* 11334 for wrong parking;
* 2123 for various violations.

Even during the next week, the Traffic Police services will intensively continue the monitoring on all urban, interurban and rural roads, using the intelligent tools and the modern logistic base at their disposal, in order to increase the parameters of road safety.

The Traffic Police appeals to all drivers of vehicles and motor vehicles, to strictly implement the traffic rules, to use alternative routes, to stay in line when there is a slowdown in the movement of vehicles in cases of traffic, to give priority to pedestrians and not to make wrong passes or dangerous maneuvers in urban centers and national axes.

Truck drivers must also strictly implement movement restrictions during the weekend and official holidays.
