From a former officer to a drug baron/ Who is Gëzim Çela?

The State Police in cooperation with SPAK have carried out a mega-operation in the Red Field area, as well as in several cities, where it is learned that Gëzim Çela's apartment and bar have been surrounded.

Gëzim Çela is a former Special Police Force officer who has turned into a drug trafficker.

Years ago, the police found 18 kilograms of cocaine and it was suspected that he used his villa in Fushë Kuqe for drug trafficking.

The police forces, at that time, seized 9 guns, 3 snipers, grenades and armored cars in his apartment in Fushë Kuqe.

Çela had turned the villa into a drug mixing laboratory. He was wanted as the head of this drug trafficking network.

In June 2014, the Albanian and Kosovar police destroyed a structured criminal group, which trafficked hard drugs from Turkey to Western Europe, also using the territory of Albania.

Gëzim Çela, before being implicated in drug trafficking and being the leader of a cocaine trafficking gang, was an officer of the Special Police Forces./ CNA
