The court of Elbasan announces that on 05.11.2024 at 09:30 a session will be held to validate the security measure for the 7 lecturers of Aleksandër Xhuvani University arrested for corruption.

Court Decision:

Based on the interest in the event of 01.11.2024, we inform you that the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Elbasan has registered criminal proceedings no. 1362/2024 with data on the criminal offense of "Abuse of duty" and "Corruption passive of persons exercising public functions".
On this date, citizen A.Ll was presented, and filed a criminal report for the criminal offense of "Abuse of duty" and "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions". Specifically, according to the report, the investigative journalists of the show "STOP" have given sums of money to the citizen GH, with the aim of passing a student in the exams of the fall season at the Faculty of Lower Cycle at the University of Elbasan.
Reports and statements were received from citizens who have knowledge, the footage made available by him was administered and examined.
Immediately following the investigative actions carried out, house checks and material evidence were seized, as well as escorting persons to the premises of the Elbasan Local Police Directorate. It went to the premises of "Aleksander Xhuvani" University as well as to the Lower Cycle Faculty at Aleksander Xhuvani University, where the control was exercised and the documentation related to the corrupt case was seized.
The documentation for each of the subjects that the student gave as exams in the fall season (month of September 2024) was administered with a record of inspection at the Secretariat of the Lower Cycle Faculty.
In the investigative actions carried out, reasonable suspicion was created based on evidence that the GH citizen has committed the criminal offense "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions" committed in collaboration, provided for by article 259/1 and 25 of the Criminal Code, while citizens MH, FT, BG, A.Sh., ZG, OB, and EG have committed the criminal offense "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions" committed in collaboration and "Abuse of duty", provided for by article 259/1 -25 and 248 of the Criminal Code.
The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Elbasan General Jurisdiction thanks and appreciates the investigative show "STOP" for referring the case and the trust in the justice bodies, as well as the Elbasan Local Police Directorate for the cooperation and readiness shown in the investigation of the case.
