The police arrested a 46-year-old man with the initials EG at the border point of Qafë Thana, who seized 53.3 kilograms of suspected narcotic substance cannabis, a vehicle and two mobile phones.

The amount of drugs, which is suspected to be trafficked in the direction of North Macedonia. 

Police Notification:

The anti-drug operation coded "Restart 17" is finalized, for the attack on another case of attempted narcotics trafficking.

The 46-year-old man, suspected of trafficking narcotics in a vehicle, towards North Macedonia, was arrested.

53.3 kilograms of suspected narcotic cannabis, a vehicle and two mobile phones were seized.

Specialists of the Section for Narcotics Investigation of DVP Korçë, after several months of investigative work, developed to combat cross-border crimes, as well as following the implementation of measures within the national operational plans "Temple" and "Rule of Law", in the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, in cooperation with DVKM Korçë, successfully finalized the coded police operation "Restart 17".

As a result of this operation, the citizen was arrested in the act:

- EG, 46 years old, resident of Korça.

During the check carried out on the second line, at the exit of the Republic of Albania, at the Qafë Thane Border Crossing Point, the Police services found in the "Volkswagen" type vehicle that this citizen was driving, 53.3 kilograms of suspected narcotic substance cannabis sativa. divided into packages. The amount of drugs, which was suspected to be trafficked in the direction of North Macedonia, was seized as material evidence, along with two mobile phones and the vehicle.

Investigations continue for the complete documentation of the incident and for the legal responsibility of other citizens involved in this criminal activity.
