The American DEA strikes the Italian-Albanian criminal group/ 72 kilograms of cocaine are seized

A joint operation of the "Guardia di Finanza" in cooperation with the American DEA has been carried out in Rome, where 10 people have been arrested, who belonged to a criminal group dealing with the distribution of narcotics, mainly cocaine. 

During the operation, 72 kilograms of cocaine arrived from Ecuador at the port of Civitavecchia and a marijuana plantation found inside a villa in the interior of Rome were seized. Meanwhile, firearms were seized, including Kalashnikovs.

The drug traffic was run by the gang consisting of Albanians, Italians and Moroccans. 

The operation, centered on Tor Bella Monaca, began at dawn on September 4. The arrest warrants were signed by the Anti-Mafia Directorate in the District of Rome, after an investigation among the local police, with the support of the Central Organized Crime Investigation Service (SCICO) and in cooperation with the DEA./ CNA
