For several weeks, Tirana has been "occupied" by garbage.

Different neighborhoods of the capital have been "smothered" by garbage.

CNA is bringing dozens of photos through a gallery, where you can see how the overflowing bins were left without being cleaned for days by the Municipality of Tirana.

Although this municipality led by Erion Veliaj pays about 30 million euros per year to Tirana's non-existent incinerator, the waste is left untreated.

In addition to the not-so-pleasant sight of the streets filled with garbage, the residents of the capital have expressed concern about the bad smell and the appearance of any disease or infection.

The photos belong to different neighborhoods, starting from the former Block area, Pazari i Ri, Bulevardi i Ri, the former Train Station, and up to Laprakë, Yzberisht and Tufinë.

They show the aggravated situation in the capital, while the Municipality of Tirana collects taxes from residents every day and pays millions of euros for incomplete services./ CNA
