Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of launching more than 300 drones and 37 missiles against Ukrainian infrastructure last night.

“Last night there were attacks against our people, our energy sector, and our political infrastructure. Russia launched more than 300 attack drones and 37 missiles against Ukraine. The Russians are attacking with drones carrying cluster munitions and launching strikes to injure firefighters and energy workers restoring damaged facilities.

This fall, the Russians have been trying to hit our energy infrastructure every day. Putin has closed his ears to everything the world says, so the only language that can still reach him is the language of pressure. It is possible to make strong decisions, decisions that can help. And it depends on the US, on Europe, on all the partners, whose strength directly determines the end of the war.

"There is now a significant momentum towards peace in the Middle East. In Europe, this is also possible. This is exactly what I will discuss today and tomorrow in Washington," Zelensky wrote in a post on the 'X' platform.

The statements come ahead of his expected meeting on Friday with President Donald Trump in the US.

Earlier, Ukrainian private energy company DTEK reported that an overnight Russian attack on energy infrastructure resulted in the disruption of operations at gas production plants in the Poltava region. /CNA
