Zelensky meets with King Charles/ Brief conversation on war issues

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with King Charles III at Sandringham Palace after attending a summit of European leaders on ending the war in Ukraine.

As the Ukrainian president arrived at the Norfolk King's residence, local residents, some with Ukrainian flags, gathered outside the property to watch his helicopter entrance.

Zelensky was in London over the weekend for talks on European defense, following a fiery exchange with US President Donald Trump at the White House on Friday.

The Ukrainian president was warmly welcomed and the meeting lasted just under an hour, royal sources said. Zelensky described it as a very good meeting.

"I am very grateful for this meeting and for the way His Majesty helps Ukraine and supports us. He has met our fighters here, training in the United Kingdom, and we are very grateful to the royal family for their support," Zelensky said.

The king has previously expressed support for Zelensky and Ukraine, saying the country had experienced unspeakable aggression following the unprovoked attack on their soil./CNA
