American disclosure: China is supplying the Russian military with technology

China is helping Russia evade Western sanctions and is likely providing Moscow with dual-use military technology for its aggression in Ukraine, an unclassified US intelligence report released Thursday said.

The assessment by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) was released by the House Intelligence Committee.

China has repeatedly denied sending military equipment to Russia since Moscow's aggression against Ukraine began in February 2022.

"China is providing some dual-use technologies used by the Kremlin's military to continue the war in Ukraine, despite an international cordon of sanctions and export controls," the ODNI report said.

The report says China has become "an even more important partner" of Russia since Moscow attacked Ukraine last year.

ODNI says in the report that China and Russia have increased bilateral trade in the Chinese currency and that financial institutions in both countries are expanding the use of domestic payment systems. China has increased the import of Russian energy, including oil and gas./ VOA
