Murder of the teenager/ Protests continue in Paris, 150 arrested

At least 150 people have been arrested across France in the second night of protests sparked by the police killing of a teenager.

The teenager, named Nahel M, was shot at a distance after refusing to stop the car.

In Nanterre, where Nahel was shot, vehicles were set on fire and police fired tear gas.

In the Mons-en-Barœul suburb of Lille, people entered the town hall and set it on fire.

The French interior minister called it "a night of unbearable violence against the symbols of the republic".

French President Emmanuel Macron earlier called Nahel's killing "inexcusable", sparking outrage from police unions.

Nahel came from a Franco-Algerian family, a neighbor told the Reuters news agency. Their numbers revealed that most of those killed by the police are black or Arab./ CNA
