Fees apply for driving into downtown New York

New York City officials have imposed a toll on cars entering downtown — the first such measure in any city in the United States.

Car drivers will pay $9 per day, and the rate will vary depending on the vehicle and the hours of operation.

Entrance will be paid to the central park circuit, and the part visited so much by tourists, around the Empire State Building, near Times Square, and the financial district - Wall Street.
