Court ruling against President Biden's student debt plan

A federal judge in Texas ruled Thursday that President Joe Biden's plan to forgive hundreds of billions of dollars in student debt was illegal and should be overturned, a victory for conservative opponents of the program.

Judge Mark Pittman, appointed by former Republican President Donald Trump in Fort Worth, made the decision on behalf of the two borrowers.

The debt relief plan was previously temporarily blocked by the St. Louis-based 8th Circuit Court of Appeals. Louis.
