The search for the three missing Kosovo citizens in the Lepenc River continues

The special units of the Macedonian police and the directorate for protection and rescue are continuing the search for the three missing Kosovo citizens in the Lepenc river near Skopje, a few kilometers from the border crossing between the two countries in Bllacë.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Macedonia, the car in which four people were traveling, citizens of Kosovo, collided with another car with Skopje license plates, and then the car fell into the river.

One of the four people who were in the car managed to get out of it, while the others, together with the vehicle, plunged into Lepenc.

"The accident happened on the Skopje-Bllacë border crossing road, when a Volkswagen car with Skopje license plates, driven by BB from Skopje and a BMW car with Kosovo license plates, driven by HP from Kosovo, were involved in a traffic accident. which after the accident fell into the Lepenc river. In addition to the driver, there were also three passengers in the BMW vehicle. "One person was pulled out of the river and transferred to the '8 Shtatori' hospital, while the police continue the search for the other three ," says the announcement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Macedonia.

At the time of the accident, according to the Macedonian police, there were large flows of the Lepenc river due to torrential rains.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosovo announced that the ambassador of Kosovo in North Macedonia, Florian Qehaja, together with the minister of the interior, Xhelal Sveçla, have come to the scene. They were accompanied by the Deputy Interior Minister of North Macedonia, Nazim Bushi.

" The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, through accelerated procedures, has facilitated and coordinated the passage of specialized search and rescue units from Kosovo to the territory of North Macedonia, following the request of the Macedonian authorities," the announcement states .
