Trump extends trade deal with Mexico for 90 days

President Trump has announced on his platform, Truth Social, that he and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum have agreed to extend their current agreement.

The latest agreement between the US and Mexico is a "Tariff of 25% on Fentanyl, 25% on Cars and 50% on Steel, Aluminum and Copper".

Trump says he hopes to reach a trade deal with Mexico within that timeframe. Along with announcing the extension, Trump says in his Truth Social post that Mexico has agreed to "immediately end its non-tariff trade barriers."

"There will be continued cooperation at the border regarding all aspects of security, including drugs, drug distribution, and illegal immigration into the United States," Trump wrote.

Trump also touted an improved relationship with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum. The two leaders spoke by phone Thursday morning.
