Trump is sworn in today as the 47th President of the United States

Donald Trump will be sworn in for his second term as US president just before 12:00 EST (17:00 GMT) in Washington DC on Monday.

The ceremony, traditionally held outside the US Capitol, has been moved indoors due to a forecast of cold temperatures of as low as -11 degrees Celsius.

After taking the oath of office, Trump will address the nation with a speech before he is expected to parade through the city to the White House and attend three inaugural balls in the evening.

Around 200,000 supporters are expected to visit the city to mark the presidential transfer.
