Shocking in Greece/ 18-year-old drowns his mother with a towel, first details

A shocking event occurred this afternoon in the Trikala area of ??Greece.

A young man called the Police Department and said he had killed his mother in the Flamoul area.

According to initial information, the 18-year-old, who lived with his father after his parents were divorced, allegedly had frequent arguments with his mother.

However, today, without any prior conflict and while they were watching television, the 18-year-old got up, went to the bathroom, took a towel and wrapped it around the 54-year-old's neck, causing her to choke to death.

Greek media report that the 18-year-old was arrested, while police forces are conducting an investigation into the circumstances in which the incident occurred.

The 54-year-old woman was found dead inside the home, and a coroner was called to determine the exact cause of death./CNA
