Today in the north of Kosovo, elections are held in the four municipalities with a Serbian majority, North Mitrovica, Zubin Potok, Zveçan and Leposavic.

The Central Election Commission announced that all 19 voting centers in the northern part of Kosovo, where early local elections are held today, have opened.

There are ten candidates in the race, of which only one is from the Serbian community. She is Slagjana Pantiq, an independent candidate for mayor of the Municipality of Zveçan.

Participation is expected to be low, as Lista Serbe, the largest party of Kosovo Serbs, is not participating in the election and has called on Serbian citizens to boycott the process. Official Belgrade made similar calls. The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti and the President Vjosa Osmani, have called on the citizens to vote in the elections.
